How to use FriendRrunner
We know that Facebook developers run on tight schedules, so we made setting up a FriendRunner test easy to do, and since it's cloud-based, there's nothing to install.
FriendRunner works in conjunction with the popular load testing tools that you're already familiar with, and provides the Facebook server layer that allows these tools to test you application without going though Facebook. FriendRunner will work with tools that you install yourself (such as HP's popular LoadRunner product) as well as working with On-Demand solutions that you run from the cloud (such as Neustar's easy-to-use BrowserMob application).
Using FriendRunner with one of these tools is easy to do by following one of our guides. You don't need to change your application to work with FriendRunner; all you'll need to do is modify the DNS settings so that any API calls your application makes are routed to FriendRunner instead of to the real Facebook servers.
Finally, we run your copy of the FriendRunner infrastructure so that only you have access to it so that your results are not affected by anyone else testing at the same time.
FriendRunner Alert monitors the Facebook Platform and automatically tests all Facebook's changes against your application. You'll be alerted to any problems that occur so that you can fix them before your users encounter them.
